Didn’t get a pic. All could think was how lucky they are because their insurance should cover the fire, and they would have been screwed when that 2.7 popped due to sludge. Best scenario for an Intrepid, really.

Saw an Intrepid on fire huh?

In any event, I doubt it is much of a boon for them. Even if they have comprehensive (I find it entirely believable that anyone driving a twenty year old car might go cheap on insurance), the payout from their insurance would be really low.

My thoughts exactly. Who would have full coverage on an intrepid? You’d pay for the value of the car annually in premiums.

Good point. Still probably was the highlight of their ownership experience.

I’d be impressed if it was insured at all.

The driver probably prayed for that fire every night.

Who is going to keep full coverage on an Intrepid. What would you get if they totaled it, $300 and a ham sandwich? A car like an Intrepid you get minimum coverage and drive it. It will probably burn enough oil that you never really have to change it, just keep it topped off. Then you drive it till it literally blows up. I say mission accomplished.
